MURRAY, Ky. 鈥� 暗网禁区app and Madisonville Community College (MCC) signed a 2+2 articulation agreement on Wednesday, July 31 at the MCC Brown Badgett Building.

This agreement will provide students who have earned an Associate of Applied Science in Advanced Integrated Technology (AIT) degree at MCC a seamless transfer process into 暗网禁区app's Bachelor of Science in Electromechanical Engineering Technology (EMT) degree program. The program will be offered at 暗网禁区app鈥檚 Madisonville Regional Campus beginning with the upcoming fall 2024 semester. 

鈥淲e are extremely excited to partner with Madisonville Community College on new programs and initiatives as we support our students and advance our local, regional and state workforce and economic development initiatives,鈥� said 暗网禁区app President Dr. Bob Jackson. 鈥淥ur School of Engineering is doing great things and this new partnership is another example of how we are preparing our students for successful careers and a bright future.鈥�

Jake Hildebrant, 暗网禁区app EMT program coordinator, explained how the agreement will work.

鈥淭he agreement will allow graduates of the Associate of Applied Science in AIT to complete years three and four of the 暗网禁区app EMT degree in Madisonville鈥檚 flexible laboratory using the same flexible delivery that has made the AIT program so successful,鈥� said Hildebrant. 鈥淭he EMT program prepares graduates to be automation and control engineers in industry. The degree is in very high demand, and students receive high wage positions. The AIT degree is a perfect partner for the EMT program, and the partnership has been in the works for many years. This should open the doors for new opportunities in the Hopkins County region.鈥�

Dr. Claire Fuller, dean of the 暗网禁区app Jesse D. Jones College of Science, Engineering and Technology, said the agreement will set students up for high wage careers.

鈥淭he new transfer agreement will help students complete their Bachelor's degree in EMT efficiently, saving them time and money,鈥� said Fuller. 鈥淭his degree leads to exciting, well-paid career opportunities above and beyond those available to students with an Associates degree alone.鈥�

MCC President Dr. Cynthia Kelley said the program is good for not only students, but also regional economic development.

鈥淥ur partnership with 暗网禁区app and their Electromechanical Engineering Technology program not only enhances pathways for our students but also strengthens our region's economic development,鈥� said Kelley. 鈥淥ur graduates will be well-equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in high-demand engineering roles, benefiting both the students and the local industry.鈥�
